BREATH, SOUND & PRESENCE

Breathwork and toning

Explore the connection between breath and expression.

Breath and voice are familiar, yet easy to overlook. Breathwork and toning invite closer attention to these everyday forms of expression: the experience of breathing, making sound, and noticing how you inhabit the moment.

An inquiry through breath and voice

You may be curious about embodied expression, interested in a more attentive relationship with your voice, or seeking a different entry point into personal practice. These interests can shape the initial conversation. No particular vocal ability or performance goal is presumed.

What the practice explores

Breath awareness and vocal sound provide the general focus. Toning involves using the voice as a form of exploration rather than performing a song. Achmed will explain the approach he proposes and discuss how it relates to your interests before you begin.

Let the individual guide the work

The precise methods are arranged directly with Achmed. This is a personalized practice, with room to communicate your comfort and ask questions. The website does not prescribe intensive breathing exercises, and the service does not promise trauma release or medical outcomes.

Arrange an appropriate session

Private breathwork and toning sessions are $100 for 60 minutes. Ask Achmed about preparation and whether an in-person or online format is appropriate. A free introductory phone call can help you decide whether this is the approach you want to explore or whether another TNR service is a better starting point.

FIND YOUR STARTING POINT

A conversation can help you choose.

A free introductory phone call offers a chance to ask questions and discuss an appropriate service. For a more focused starting point, the separate Transformational Navigation orientation is a one-hour session for $90.

Payment accepted: Cash or Zelle. Payment arrangements are confirmed directly with Achmed.

This account describes conscious breathing and sound within an integrated movement class.

An integrated group class combining Pilates, movement, conscious breathing, and sound

What began for me as a simple Pilates session to help with lower backpain and leg cramps blossomed into an extended group class taught by Achmed Valk that encompassed elements of dance, subtle stretches, toning with conscious breathing, and awareness of our personal emotional/intellectual “design.” Achmed offers a deep and varied background, incorporating dance as the expression of internal movement and flow, not just pretty poses; an understanding of the connection between breath, numerology, cosmology, and spiritual teachings, and a heartfelt goal of seeking peace and wholeness for each person (with radiating circles out to the world). This is an experience like no other coaching – each session builds on the last with intention, harmonious movement and sound, and somehow, we each come to insights about our own patterns and how better to direct our strengths and talents. There is no exact label for this high level of teaching. When people ask me how the class went, I just answer, “Magic.
